Beautiful Baby Boy
Collan Edward Sterling was born April 20th, 2009 at 8.18pm at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. He weighed 8 pounds 5 ounces, and reached 21 inches. It took 11 and a half hours of labor to get the little guy out. I didnt want to have to get an epideral, but after 9 hours of labor and 6 cm dialated, I couldn't handle the pain anymore. Destin says that every nurse on duty poked a head in to make sure I wasn't dying. Something like 15 minutes after i got the epideral, I went from 6 to 9 centimeters, and started pushing. it took nearly 2 hours to get his head under the pelvic bone, then he just slipped out. Destin cut the ambilical cord, and watched them clean him all off. During that time i got a few stitches from first degree tearing and cleaned up. Then i got to hold my son. He's beautiful and perfectly healthy. I've had a little trouble with breastfeeding, so my doctor gave me some antibiotics. They make collan's tummy a little upset. But we're getting through. Just healing and growing now. I'll get all the hospital pics up one of these days.

He's such a cutie pie! and he'll remember that im his creepy aunt that wore a freaky mask. not really, cause he wasnt even awake when i was holding him...still sick too. :(
So he did cut the cord, huh? I thought he wasn't going to. :) That's what they all say. I'm sorry for butting my nose in, but I just think about you guys. :) I hope I'm not too much of a pain in your side. I will always be here whenever you need me. You're awesome girl and I love that little nephew of mine. He's AWESOME!!!!
Here I am butting my nose in again, but I talked to our bishop and he said you could bless Collan on the 24th if you would like and all you would need to do is come a little bit early to give them the information for the certificate. All your dad has to do is bring his temple recommend and he can bless him. I hope that helps. Sorry again if I'm butting in too much. I'll take you shopping for a blanket and outfit for him if you want. :)
Here is another thought since Sunday in IF is going to be difficult. What if we talk to Grandma's bishop and get permission to bless him at Grandma's home Saturday after the reunion. Since it isn't a Fast Sunday anyway and it does not have to be done at church. Let us know what you think.
Sounds like you guys are doing well. Thanks for the picture messages they were adorable :D Yay Destin for cutting the cord! Hes gunna have to share stories at the reunion.
hey, let me know when you guys think you will bless him. I didn't plan on going to the reunion, but if you do it there I will make more effort to be there. I can't make any promises, it is such a long drive, but we'll see.
i've got to call grandma and talk to her bishop, but i want to do it saturday. we'll just be there for the day of the reunion, so probably after the reunion. destin's still uncomfortable at grandma's with so many people in that tiny house, and he doesnt sit still very well. but we'll let you know!
